BFA Admission 2026

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree Programme offered in the Government Fine Arts Colleges in Kerala is a four-year professional undergraduate course that introduces students to the creative, intellectual, and technical foundations of visual art. The programme provides structured training in studio practice, drawing, painting, sculpture, applied art, printmaking, visual communication, art history, aesthetics, and related areas of contemporary visual culture. It is intended for students who wish to pursue art as a serious field of study and practice, and to develop their creative abilities through sustained studio engagement, critical thinking, observation, experimentation, and professional discipline.

Admission to the BFA Degree Programme for the academic year 2026–27 will be conducted through the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala. Candidates who have passed Plus Two or an equivalent examination are eligible to apply. The admission process includes submission of online applications through the official DTE admissions portal, followed by an entrance examination designed to assess the candidate’s aptitude in visual perception, drawing, imagination, and creative response. The rank list will be prepared on the basis of the prescribed admission criteria, and allotment will be made as per the rules and reservation norms of the Government of Kerala.

For the academic year 2026–27, the notification is scheduled to be published and Online applications will be accepted till 8 July 2026. The entrance test will be held on 12 July 2026, the rank list will be published on 21 July 2026, and the admission process will take place on 30 July 2026.
